SN87 FAQ

Plain answers about SN87, Proof of Assurance on Bittensor. Status, claims, the miner kit and how to ask your own question.

  1. What is SN87?

A Bittensor subnet for Proof of Assurance. Independent methods examine permitted evidence of autonomous work and return an Assurance Differential. Validators test what those methods can establish.

  2. Is it live?

Yes, on Bittensor testnet (subnet 582). The validator first set weights on 28 September 2026. It is not on mainnet.

  3. Can I check the claims myself?

Yes. Clone the repo and run the public verifier. It reads the chain and checks every attested weight-set. You need no wallet, key or account.

  4. Why does the verifier say UNVERIFIED?

Scoring truth runs on a private reference executor. The public verifier confirms integrity and the chain record, and reports scoring as UNVERIFIED instead of claiming a pass it cannot prove.

  5. Can I run a miner?

The miner kit is open source, with a draft quickstart in the repo. Outside miners are not enrolled on testnet yet. Run it locally and tell us where it breaks.

  6. Who is behind SN87?

Provenonce. Provenonce and Bitstarter.ai are partnering on Proof of Assurance (Bittensor Subnet 87).

  7. Is this an investment offer?

No. SN87's public materials describe technology and evidence. They make no financial claims and offer nothing for sale.

  8. How do I get in touch?

ops@provenonce.co. Security reports: see SECURITY.md in the repo.

  9. How do I ask a question?

Ask in SN87, Provenonce Telegram. We collect questions every Wednesday and post answers here every Friday.
